Barbeque Halibut

Submitted by keith on September 14, 2007

Sweet, tangy, buttery goodness. And it's halibut, so you can tell yourself it's good for you. Originally from allrecipes.com, though the sauce is doubled, because it's so delicious.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 teaspoons soy sauce (Make sure this is gluten free, since most soy sauces contain wheat. Tamari is one type of soy sauce that is often gf)
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 4 halibut steaks

Directions

Step 1

Combine the butter, brown sugar, garlic, lemon juice, soy sauce, and pepper in a sauce pan. Melt butter and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.

Step 2

Cover and marinate halibut in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.

Step 3

Cook halibut over medium high heat for ~5 minutes per side or until halibut flakes. Try not to overcook (a tough but essential part of making fish).
