Marinated Flank Steak

Submitted by keith on May 30, 2008

If you like red meat (I grew up in Alaska, so I can't help it), it's hard to beat this recipe. It has a slight asian flair, so it goes well with bok choy and rice. Pair the meal with a good red wine, and I promise you'll get plenty of praise.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (Make sure it's gluten free)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons distilled vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup vegatable oil
  • 1 1/2 - 2 lbs flank steak

Directions

Step 1

To create marinade, combine soy sauce, honey, vinegar, ginger, and garlic powder in a small bowl.

Step 2

Put marinade and meat together in a glass dish, cover, and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.

Step 3

Set the grill to high and allow it time to preheat.

Step 4

Spray or brush the grill with oil

Step 5

Sear each side of the meat for 1-2 minutes.

Step 6

Reduce heat to medium and continue heating each side for 3-6 minutes (depending on thickness of meat and desired doneness).
